.....i believe in fairtales
I just received an email from another blog... it was requesting help with their new blog.... i was afraid to open it.... what do i know about building a blog... not much...
with a deep breath i open up the email.... and the second paragraph caught my eye.... it was telling me all the money i could make with a blog that promotes film clips.... ok... i guess so... if you say so... who knows so....
now i was suspicious... just why did this person send me an email.. if they checked my blog.. they would see i have no advertising links at all..... none... period....
so i opened up the link she sent along.. and sure enough it was a blog promoting the sell... a women... a house wife.. with three children... so i understand why she would be looking to make some extra money..
when i was pregnant with my first child.. i learned it cost in the range of around 100.000 dollars to raise one child... i have two.. so it has cost me 200,000... this information was from the early eighty's... i have no idea how much it costs to raise a child in today's dollars... but i know... they cost a lot... so i am happy for her... if she finds extra money on the net...
i closed the blog... along with the email... and thought about what the blogging world seems to be about now... making money... something i do not feel comfortable with myself... and just why... well this is the question...
i first started on the net back when there was not even a browser... mosaic was the first... i was delighted as to how it made the net that much more fun... each new advance on the net brought with it that much more excitement.... the community was small.. and people shared everything for free...
there was talk back then of the potential to make money... people expressed different ideas on how this could be done... and then... sex found a way to make it happen...
the Internet was like a fairytale to me... a very special place where i could find and learn things i was interested in... not bothered by spam.. or drop down adds... or the many scams that now run ramped on the net... places i avoid like the plague...
just as i closed the blog that was inviting me to make money... i saw Anna's new posting... i opened it up... and knew the timing was just right...
i believe in fairy tales .............................................
