i took this click just outside jasper alberta... in the canadian rockie mountains...sometime in sept of this year..

although i live in the mountains along the lower west coast of canada... i enjoy the 1000km drive that takes me through the mountains to visit my sister in the praires... the highway finds its way to jasper national park... a place i have spent a lot of time exploring... from childhood to present

when i was in my teens and early twenties i hiked much of the territory... there are some wonderful trails.. which take you far away from man... just you and the bears... some very big grizzlies... not as big as the kodiaks found up in alaska.. close in size though... i am not sure of the average weight difference anymore but big enough to take your lunch from you and leave you bear bottomed... big smile..
